Need to move not want to!!!

Hello I am new to the forum, I live in France and have for the last 7 years. I now find myself in a predicament and will have to move back to the uk, through no fault of mine. Iam a pensioner - only state pension 450 per month,
With no other income, I am pretty desperate and scared. Don't know where to turn, where will I live? What will I live on? Will I get help? Because I have not paid in to the system here in France I can not get anything here o gave to go back. Iam not in the best of health, have severe athitis of my spine and am diabetic and ave now problems with my hips. I would go back to Yorkshire as that is were I am from. How do I start the procedure I am 63, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm confused - if you are entitled to UK pension, benefits etc when in the UK then that should give you and equivalent entitlement in France (?)
Paying into the UK system should be regarded as equivalent to paying into the French system. What do you expect to get in the UK that you cannot get where you are now?

Confused too - and two threads aren't necessary

Sorry there are two threads some said to put it on the other, don't know how to merge them.,
I could get pension credits in the uk as I have worked all my life. Over here in France if you have not paid into there system you can get nothing out of it. A lot different to the uk.

Are you sure that's correct? I too thought there was some sort of reciprocal arrangement; aren't there lots of UK pensioners living in Europe on their UK pensions? I guess it must have changed.

But you said yourself you have never contributed to the french economy, why should you qualify for anything from them ?

I am sorry to hear about your stress though and hope you get through this change (life is change) and find some peace of mind soon.

Good luck.

Have you checked this page: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens...e/index_en.htm
your entitlements should be identical in the UK and in France, regardless of whether they are paid by the UK or french system.

Hi from the France forum where you might like to follow Squibs's thread.
The immediate problem is not how to apply for and obtain possible benefits (her OH is working and his income together with her Pension might exceed the official French "poverty threshold" and she may not be entitled to any).
Her urgent problem is to solve her financial situation caused by her OH's debts and we are advising her to take the official steps that French people in the same situation take. When that problem has been settled :fingerscrossed:, and if she stays in France, she can check to see what benefits she's possibly entitled to.
