There are loads of good beers ..just try them
Yes indeedy.

Hmmm, making a list of my top 20 beers, that would be fun. I'll have a good think about that while having my lunch today.

I havent found THAT many American Beers that would come close to my top 20. I am an old fashioned Hand pumped pint of bitter guy

I grew up on John Smiths. I miss it. I want it.

Just give my my Yorkshire Bitter!

Funny thing is, the smaller breweries such as Black Sheep and Sam Smiths are easy to get!

But then there's the danger it might actually turn out nice.

OP said he was missing John Smith's...

While I'm with Circus of Power and Duncan on this one, it did take me a year or two and a lot of trying to finally get my head around U.S. beers and come to like them. But then I was having a pretty tough time with homesickness too and everything in America seemed crap.

Middle ground time - the number of U.S. bars serving real cask-conditioned, U.S.-brewed ale is small but increasing, and passed the 500 mark a while back. This list is a bit out of date but can be used as a starting point:

Let me get my flame suit on 1st....

Does anybody know if you can get Carling Premier here in the states (Florida preferably). None of my local liquor stores have it. Failing that is there a US beer that comes close?

Cheers

OH WOW.....you though me wanting Johns was bad!!!!

Not homes sick...been here for 10 years jumping from various visas to another and do have a few yank beers that I like (New belgium brewery for example)

If you are a fan of carling, go buy a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
