Ok, so in the early stages of considering moving back to the UK. Background - I am a UK citizen, 2 kids were born in the US but have UK passports. Wife and I lived in the UK for 15 years before moving to the US in 2001. When we moved we had no idea that BREXIT was even a possibility and so my wife never secured any formal UK immigration documentation. Fast forward to today. It is possible that some time in the next year we may move to the UK. The situation with BREXIT is unclear and I have no idea if she will have the right to live in the UK, or if I need to sponsor her? The potential job that I am considering would be paid out of the US, and we could theoretically live anywhere in Europe, so maybe Ireland does that make it easier? If we decided on France, would we have the reverse situation where she would need to sponsor me? Only issue with that is I will be the breadwinner so not sure how this all works Arrgh!!!

BREXIT is a huge CF and for us has thrown a serious wrench in our plans. All thoughts and guidance appreciated....

Lots of misinformation and scaremongering regarding Brexit in relation to this subject. What’s the proposed timeline for your return to the UK?

Within the next year, if it goes ahead. It's not guaranteed yet.
