Moving money

Still awaiting a decision with my wife’s spouse visa but wanted to do research on best way to move money from Canada to UK. I mean I’m the past we have PayPal odd amounts to each to help or pay for things etc but obviously this would be a much bigger sum. Just looking for advice or people who have experienced this already
