Rebs, would you mind giving an indication of the cost of that service?

Sorry, I don't know the cost. We were very lucky in that my husband's employer paid all the shipping costs and we never saw any details.

I'll Google local providers.

Thanks for getting back to me

Question; We have a few items that we would like to take back that are 110Volts...Treadmill, Bose system, domestic Pressure Washer and the like. If I use a step down transformer in the UK (240 v down to 110 v) will this work OK?...has anyone got experience of this?

When we moved back to the UK my wife had a Bose system. However i don't know what system you have. Call Bose in the UK as my Wife had her's converted by Bose here in UK. When by Wife called Bose they did not advise using a transformer.

Sorry if I'm hijacking. Has anyone brought a KitchenAid Professional Mixer back to the UK (from Canada or the U.S.)? They're like $600 new so don't really want to replace it. We're not bringing anything that heats up as I've had less than stellar experiences with overheating.

Someone on another site brought a KitchenAid mixer back, and has had no problems. If the transformer is heavy enough, should be fine as long as you aren't using it for many hours every day.

Thanks Vadio :). It's just used weekly for a batch of muffins, cookies etc for the family so pretty light usage but it's very good quality so not keen to replace it.
