moving back Canada to UK

Hello, looking at moving back in about 2 years ,don't think I need ToR as I'm only bringing back clothes , so do I just need to tell the UK tax man I'm back ? I get a Forces pension tax free as I'm not resident in UK , then tell Canadian Tax man when I've left ?
Thanks

Re: moving back Canada to UK

That sounds about right. When we returned from the USA we simply registered with HMRC to file self assessment taxes some weeks after we had settled in. Our son on his return from the USA a year later had no foreign income at all so he didn’t do anything specifically to inform HMRC, they simply started PAYE on his salary once he started work, and after 3 months realized they were taking too much and made adjustments.

in our case the IRS found out we were living overseas when we filed our taxes the following year.
