Moving back after 30 years
 

Hi all
My wife and I are thinking of moving back to the UK after being in Canada for over 30 years. We are both approaching retirement age, 2 of our 3 kids have gone to live in the uk (1 born in Canada, 1 born in uk). So we are thinking of selling up and moving back.( to be near the grand kids) I worked for 15 years in UK and have already been told I'm entitled to 50 % UK pension, but was wondering about other benefits, ie health care, free bus passes and any other benefits that pensioners seem to get over there.
I will be getting a decent pension from my company ( 30 years service) plus CPP and Canada pension. I know 2 other people that went back to live in the UK after a good length of time, but came back to Canada as it didn't work out.
We've been back (to various parts of the country) almost every year over the past 30 years, unfortunately many visits have been for sick parents or funerals etc. Recently the visits back home have been more pleasant as we now have grand children to visit.
Anyone got any insight as to any benefits we are entitled to, or need to apply for?
