moving back on 11th September!!!!

Never thought I would physically be able to do it but I have packed up my house by myself, the removers come tomorrow. Me and 3 kids (under 6) are flying back home on Friday. I am not looking forward to doing the flight with the kids on my own, but can honestly say that when that plane is in the air the relief will be enormous!! Anyone else flying on Friday?? Just in case you see a frazzled, stressed woman with 3 kids, that's me!!

Good luck, Hope all goes well. Are you flying with Canadian Affair? If so they have moves and kids channels for the little ones. If you pay the upgrade for the TV you can get more channels and games to play.

Good luck with the trip. I can't imagine doing it with three under 6 on my own.
Take a long piece of string with you, then you can tie everyone together so no one gets lost
I hope the flight goes smoothly. Do you have someone meeting you at the other end to help?

Should be lots of empty seats on the plane on September 11th. You'll have plenty of room to spread out.

Another Brit leaving Canada, excellent!! We did it 3 months ago, seems like the best decision we ever made. Our kids, normally pretty hyper were as good as gold on the plane also, we wasted a lot of worrying uneccesarily about that.

Stupid comment. More stay than return so who's out of step here?

Out of step? maybe. Stupid I don't think so. I never implied that more return from Canada than stay (though I'd like to see the figures on that). However this is the Moving Back To The UK Forum. You have probably noticed that there are a few people who have the same sentiments as me. Just get over it.

I lived in Canada for 4 years, now I've moved back to the UK and prefer it infinitely over Canada, thats my opinion. I suspect if I called anyone's comments that brought down the UK "stupid" on one of the Canadian forums I'd be flamed for it.

This I completely understand. Canada's not for everyone just as the UK is not for everyone. It was the word excellent that I found to be stupid. It appears you have such a hatred for the country that you take some warped pleasure when others follow your path.

For what it's worth I think it was a stupid remark too.

Why is the obvious stress suffered these past few months by Marieceleste's family been turned into "Another Brit leaving Canada, excellent"!! Couldn't you just wish them well instead sounding like you are gloating at other people's failure to settle.

Emigrating is not for everyone. Best wishes for happy times again Marieceleste. :)

Again, where are the words "I hate Canada" in my post. In fact you can only assume that's what I feel. It would be very strange if that truly was the case considering my wife is Canadian, and her whole family live there. I also have many friends there and happen to particularly like the city of Montreal so there will be many visits back.

However, with our economic circumstances and at our stage of life the UK is infinitely better for us and more importantly our kids, there is just no getting away from it. As for the OP, if that path is what they want then it is "excellent" that they are able to pursue it. In the same way, if a friend told me they were fulfilling their wish by moving from the UK to Canada I would also call it "excellent". I wouldn't take it as a gross insult to the UK!!

Goodness me!!, I was wishing them well. Why would I feel the need to gloat. I have after all been in something of the same boat. Again this is the Moving back to the UK forum. If I had my say on every post that brought down the UK on the Canada forum I'd be at it all day.
