Default Money back to UK?

HI, just after a bit of advice, have just received funds from our Oz house sale into our Westpac account, and want to transfer it back to UK asap. Problem I have is there is a $5000 transaction limit per day on the Westpac account, which I cant seem to get lifted without long drawn out posting over to Uk new security codes/pin numbers etc We dont have a cheque book on the account, only a debit card, which has been fine till now. Other than transferring $5000 /day for the next however long and incurring charges on each transaction, any other ideas to be able to move it fast?

thx
Mel

Count me in as another vote for XE Trade. According to XE's website they do trade in Aussie Dollars.

Can you explain to a mere mortal what Ozforex is?...I asked a question like this a while ago as we do not have a bank account in the U.K I was told by HSBC here in Perth that if we opened an account with them here in Aus (whilst we needed to live on) we could open an account with them then when the time came for us to send our money over to the U.K they would transfer our account over to their U.K offices as an overseas transaction...the account would be open and cards and whatever we needed would be there for us when we arrived in the U.K....it would all be opened at their London branch but they would deliver cards etc to whatever mailing address we had given them for our U.K home.
That is what we planned to do when we have sold our home but please if their is an easier way please let me know...any help would be really grateful.

That all sounds abit complicated.

It was really easy transferring the money (UK to OZ) so i'm hoping it will be the same (OZ to UK).
I opened an OZforex account with them on-line. I booked the rate i was happy at 2.5....then when i got to OZ i sent a letter to my bank in UK to release a large amount of money into the OZforex account. This was done and my money was put into my new OZ account by OZforex...at the rate i booked.

Simple really. They were great.

Thanks for that but can it work if we do not have a bank account in the U.K?we would like to open one before we leave Aus, I have been told it is easier if you open an account in the U.K here while you have refs etc needed to open an account.....get's confusing...and I now wished we had kept our Alliance & Leicester account open but after 6 years here (as it was then) we just let it close....

Hmm, not sure. We have kept our acc open in UK as i knew deep down i would be back. There are many threads on opening a bank acc whilst in OZ. Do a search.
