Satan Goes To Church

Just minutes before the church services started the towns people were sitting in their pews and talking.
Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church.

Everyone started screaming and running for the front entrance, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away from evil incarnate. Soon, everyone had exited the church except for one elderly gentleman who sat calmly in his pew without moving, seemingly oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate enemy was in his presence.

So Satan walked up to the old man and said, "Don't you know who I am?

The man replied, "Yep, sure do."
"Aren't you afraid of me?" Satan asked.
"Nope, sure ain't," said the man.
"Don't you realise I can kill you with a word?" asked Satan.
"Don't doubt it for a minute," returned the old man, in an even tone.
"Did you know that I could cause you profound, horrifying, physical agony forever?"
"Yep," was the calm reply.
"And you're still not afraid?" asked Satan.
"Nope."
More than a little perturbed, Satan asked, "Well, why aren't you afraid of me?"
The man calmly replied,
"I’ve been married to your sister for 45 years."

I never really lived in this 'village' Britain that has somehow go lost in the last few years...to me England has always been a bit rough...its just that now you hear more about it...there has always been from what I remember...gangs......crime...drinking...etc etc...its no new thing...maybe I grow up the wrong side of the tracks..and everyone else who left England for a better life was trying to get away from the likes of me .

I am sure you are a very nice person really.

Like you say it all depends on where you live. I lived in a small village growing up and never even heard of drugs until I was in my 20s....Sheltered but great upbringing.

Now its plastered all over the TV about drugs and you can not protect kids from it like when I was a kid. I blame the media for giving it tv space and making us to aware of it. For example my Son loves The Simpsons and sometimes it refers to drugs and violence...how do I stop him from watching it when all his mates watch it. Sorry get of my soap box now!

A completely unreliable, uncreditable source from t'internet tells me that the UK is going down the pan? It must be true! We all know that everything you read on the wibbly wobbly web is true, after all, and our own experiences count for nothing. I barely even remember how to form my own opinion any more - I'm so used to being told what to think. I'm cancelling the flights now. Do you think I'll get my shipping deposit back?

Indeed & to say the only reasons most people move back is for family/finances - no!
