Looking for a nice wee school in Scotland
Hi Everyone,
House just sold and we are looking at heading back to the UK end of June(ish). We used to live down south but after 12 yrs in Canada looking into Scotland as our new home. I have two Primary school age children and one of my top priorities is finding them a good school. We have been looking at Edinburgh's out skirts, Fife, and the boarders. The dream is a rural one but close enough to commute to Edinburgh/Glasgow for work. Anyone have any ideas where to start looking? Feeling rather sick at everything I need to get done!
Thanks!

IMHO you should focus on the potential secondary school - perhaps with a look at the following league table.
Scotland school ranking
There is a strong demand for families to buy a home within the catchment area for their prefered school.
If you do not live in the catchment area then you generally cannot get your children into the school.
Once you establish a shortlist of secondary schools then you can look at the local primary schools.
Particularly in the West of Scotland, you will find separate schools for Roman Catholics.
I live in an area with 4 of the top 20 secondary schools and several good primary schools but the house prices are more expensive for that reason.
