looking for info on shipping belongings and dog from Vancouver to UK
Hello,
Well we have been in beautiful North Vancouver for 4 years now and although we have had a wonderful time the prospect of bringing up two children here on our own is making us want to go back to being near our family in the UK. The fact that we will never be able to afford to buy a home here (short of winning the lottery) is also a big factor.
So I am doing some research, looking for info on recommended int shipping companies and shipping our dog home.
Many thanks for your help,
Lynsey

Your dog can go in cargo on the same flight as your family. There are a lot of rules that need to be followed check out the thread on DEFRA regulations for more information. There are pet relocation companies but personally I would prefer to take my dog to the airport myself, know that she is on the plane, and be there waiting for her at the airport when we land. Make sure you check the routes carefully to make sure that the dog can be accepted into the UK on that airline and your specific destination. It is expensive for dogs to fly cargo so dont be surprised if it as much if not more than your ticket home. If your dog is small then some airlines such as air france allow you to take them in a carrier on board however you cannot fly directly into the UK this way and would have to go via Europe.
