Default Leaving the USA

Hi

I am a Canadian citizen, planning on returning to Canada, after
working in the USA. I plan on moving my assets ( money ) from the USA
to Canada as well. Does anyone have some advice on doing so, and
also, any legal considerations I need to be aware of considering the
amount of money is over 10 000 USD ( on the Canadian or USA side )
Thanks for your help.

Hellboy.

If you don't have a bank account in both countries, and it is just
money, why not just dump it on your credit card?

Hellboy.
You have to declare the currency to US Customs when leaving the US. Splitting it into smaller chunks to avoid reporting is illegal.

You may want to ask your bank to transfer it and file the paperwork.

As for that guy's credit card idea, any monetary instrument needs to be reported. Failure to report the $$$ can lead to having it all siezed.
