Leaving for the UK from the US in a few weeks - Selling Electronics and Stuff
Any recommendations of services that will purchase unwanted (or rather unusable in the UK) electronics, furniture etc... alternately are there services that will take it on and sell it on your behalf?

You could try local classifieds and online. When I moved out here, I listed everything I was getting rid of and emailed it to my friends ... sold a lot of stuff that way. Second hand shops won't give you much but if the alternative is to dump it or give it away - better than nothing. You could try intranet or noticeboard at work too.

Craigslist.com local paper ads maybe?
Here we have a local sales Facebook page, maybe you could hunt on facebook and see if you have one there.
Are there any consignment stores near you, we have a furniture one about a half hour away.
Also our local Post office has a bulletin board you can make a poster with pics and put it up for a month at a time.

I second Craigslist. I've sold loads of stuff on there.

Kijiji for sure - Craigslist is absolutely rife with scams and con artists. I have had a 100% failure rate with Craigslist, with a massive population of utter time wasters, and near 100% success rate with Kijiji where I have managed to get reasonable prices and quickly from credible and seemingly honest people.
