Hey jude,
glad to hear you are settled a little more , but sad to hear about hubs.
i agree about pampering yourself and not going out and finding another bloke, if you go out have a realy good time but don't go getting another man out of a sense of revenge, you are much better than that and at the end of the day do you really need another bloke, you sound like a very strong woman.
Regardless though have a good time and enjoy your freedom in cardiff as a very single lady.

Just to let you know the latest from me!!

Basically my hubs is a bastard!!! (sorry for language) & there is no chance of us patching up.

Ive just found out ( i was suss for a week) that within a week of me getting home he has already found someone else!! She is only 19 & has never had a propeer boyfriend. She is a friend pf some friends we had there who oddly enough didnt rate Si very highly as they thought he treated me quite bad! Im totally & utterly gutted as i did think that he loved me still regardless. I feel its all my fault & i failed but having just spoke to his ex she says he wasnt much better with her i.e bossy, controlling & had a bad temper! She is really annoyed at him as Stepson is still there & she is now actually thinking of bringing him back here!

At least i just know now i did the right thing by leaving as prob would have had another 'affair as he did at xmas. Im hpoing to watch it all go horribly wrong for him. He has made no conatct hardly with megy apart from when ive rang her text so its his loss & as far as im concerned i want no more to do with him aprt from meg! He is behaving like some teenager rather than a grown adult. In fact i should laugh really as its quite pathetic!

He has changed beyond belief anyway over the time we have been in Oz & i hope that one day he will realise just what he lost. i wont be waitibng though & intend to go out sat night in cardiff & find meself a nice man!!!!

Still no luck with hosuing atm. Am hoping to get some money together for a place in cardiff so i can get on the housing list!!

Anyway hope everyone is well & i will catch up with you all again real soon!

Hope all those that have returned ie Stu, mick & jo are all settling ok!!

take care xxxxxxx
Jude, followed your story for a while now and felt for you every step of the way. Cardiff isn't ready for you yet Go get em darling and have a ball for the rest of your life.

Hi Jude,

Well it sounds like you did the right thing anyway hun and you're probably better off without him.

I'm sure you'll have them queueing at the door for you in Cardiff anyway (so to speak).

I hope you and Megan are settling in well in Cardiff and at least you can now look forward to your future together in the UK.

Al the best.

Hi Stu

Been following your posts for a while now - how are you settled back here? We came back from the Gold Coast 18 months ago and are now ready to give it another shot. I had around4 months where i was happy but then started to miss Oz - crazy.

Hope you are feeling good and having fun catching up with your family and friends here

Hi

What happened with you - I feel such a twit. Missed familiar things and struggled really badly with finding work and felt really low. I think felt severe homesickness and simply bailed out. Went shopping to Woolies one day and ended up in Flight Centre booking one way tickets to UK.

Now we have been back for a decent length of time, I now feel ready to go again, with a clearer vision of what to expect. We made some lovely friends over there and I am truly looking forward to seeing them again and seeing my boys play on the beach and have more freedom than they have here. I miss things there and I beleive that once back I will miss things about here!

I live in West Yorkshire and though we have stunningly beautiful countryside, things are sliding downhill rapidly. I work in Bradford and every day see poor old people, wandering around the city centre probably wondering whatever happened to their city - as its a dump full of chavs, beggars and people with no manners or respect for anybody else - it is scary. I dont want that to be me in another 30 years - dread to think what it will be like by then. Another shooting yesterday - drug wars with young Asian lads - its horrid.

Where are you living?

Hi

I remember reading how you went & booked your flights back one day, seize the moment woman!!!
How long were u here for?
The not finding work can be really hard, gets to alot of people.
Yep, I felt a big banana when I decided to head back to Oz too.
I was here in Oz for a few years b4 heading back.
Started to miss bits of Oz, despite having alot of reservations on here. Think I probably didnt give myself enough time to get restablshed back in UK. Came back to Oz to move where my by then ex and I had meant to live. We'd got waylaid in Sydney so I felt I hadnt given where we'd meant to live here a go.
So I came back, all was fine for a year.
Have now, 2 years in decided to head back again to UK - lovely friends here, will miss aspects no doubt, some alot, but I've come to the conclusion I dont want to be here in 30 years, or 2 more. Been here in Oz since 2000, excluding my jaunt back - seen alot of the place and kind of seen enough and nowhere else want to go even on holiday here, too same same. Think life is easier here etc & warmer , but in UK is ultimately more stimulating & fulfilling. Lovely here but I get bored. Lack of variety, isolation etc.
Both places have pluses n minuses dont they.
Like I said, I really hope it works out for you this time round.
Good luck and enjoy

Hi again

Its so hard isnt it - making such huge decisions. Sometimes I wish we had never applied to go to Oz as I wouldnt be in this predicament!!! 90% says Oz but I still have this little bit that loves Yorkshire and family - event hough when we are together its not as rosey and lovely as i remember!!! Hubby loves Oz and want it for my kids as well.

Your right about the isolation and it can be very quiet sometimes, same here though, except the telly is better over here!! I will miss that alot. I think we did more as a family and were more sociable as we didnt sit in front of the TV all the time!!!! Kids read books instead of TV

Yeah I dont want to make any big decisions anymore, had my fill of them for years I reckon.
Its such a headspin I agree, oh to have never got the notion to move here.
I was really sure (most of the time) heading back to Oz, it felt right when I landed to.
Just treat it as seeing for a couple of years, dont think of it as for ever
Where you heading to anyway?

We are heading to Robina on the Gold Coast. Nothings perfect but it is much better than where we are at the moment. We actually live in a lovely part of Yorkshire - little village but trouble is there is a horrible town 15 mins away, full of chavs and degenerates!!!

When I compare the two there is really no comparrison. Love the northern humour here though!! Where are you from originally?

I know - i have 3 sons - the youngest is happy playing in the village, but it is a tiny vilage -we dont even have a shop and the older ones hate it!! Keighley is on a par with Bradford - full of gangs and people from other countries who dont want to integrate - its horrible!! A bit rich I know coming from someone going to live overseas, but my moto is if you go to a county - live as the natives!!!! I hate my sons going intot he town, threats of violence and getting their things stolen, it has got so much more worse in the last 18 months - its scary

Well good luck with the move back
