And the same is true of the US, Canada, Australia .......... every country has immigration rules, they are a fact of life for anyone unfortunate enough to fall in love with someone from a different country.

Exactly! And some countries demand a medical examination too.

I think it's fair to say, the more popular destinations such as Aus, Canada, US, NZ etc, a medical is an important aspect of the process.

I think in some ways Canada, Australia, and NZ might be easier than US. US has no skilled worker program, unlike the others. Not to be confused with a work visa where an employer sponsors you. For the program, needed skills are enough without sponsorship. Although Canada has scaled back its skilled list significantly over the last few years.

I'd say in all ways they're easier than USA.

Yes, you're probably right. Especially recently...

It's pretty dubious to include US as a "popular destination" any longer. Lots of reasons to steer clear of the US modernly.

About a million people a year disagree with you, including a large number of Brits moving to the US every year. Just because you have a political axe to grind doesn't mean everyone agrees with you!

What was said here. More Brits emigrate to Australia than the other 3. I'd personally also choose one of them over US these days. The health care mess is one of a few reasons.

All States make decisions about who can travel into their territory. Some have harsher rules than others.
