We paid a visit to the Grand Arcade yesterday, its not bad actually, its not massive but its quite nice and there are enough varierty of shops there to cover most things. Its certainly worth a look anyway!

Hi, I was reading the quotes when your's really made me feel a bit better, after 9 years of living in Perth we have decided to go back home, my husband and two sons are already packing whilst I'm happy one min then thinking god what am I doing!! it's safe here in the sense you have your home, job etc but were bored and miss home so when we got back from our 10 week holiday (march 07 - may 07) and decided let's go back as as Perth never really felt home and we do miss loads of things now it is happening I am really nervous.....my husband said let's stay if you do not want to go but I don't want to stay, I want christmas in winter with my family and around me, a proper local, Indian food and holidays and friends who do not move houses and areas every two years......but I do feel scared..once I get home I will be fine...I did not think about Perth once while I was back in Manchester and we have never laughed so much in years.....I just want to wake up and be there and get all the other stuf out of the way.....oh to dream!!! does not help that my hubbie is working in Dubai, went a few days ago, we could go there for two years and buy a house outright in Marple but I just feel I need to get home first.....anyway thanks for the post, it is really helpful knowing other people are thinking and feeling the same way at some stage. We are hoping to be home by August 07

to tell you the truth I am not to sure, my husband is in dubai, I am left with all the hassle and I cry a lot lately, I have never done that in all my life, not even when I arrived here or was feeling low....I would rather just stay and get on with dullsville but nobody else wants to.....I know it is just because I have loads to do and sort out and my husband is only in Dubai so he can earn extra money for a nice home in England but it seems just to much if thats what we have to do to be home.

Thanks so much for your help.....I feel really pathetic.......

Hi Jackie

Hey I don't think you would be normal if you weren't getting upset at leaving after 9 years there - I was upset and I'd only been in Oz for a year!! It's a perfectly natural reaction as a chapter of your life is closing and despite it being what you want, it still hurts.

On the practical side, I know exactly what you mean although I didn't have to do all the organising alone - it seems such a huge task at the minute doesn't it. It's so stressful organising two lots of things - one all the packing, selling up and finishing off in Oz and then the planning new home, schools, jobs, cars at the other side - it can seen impossible to co-ordinate at times. But please be reassured that everthing does fall into place. Take each day as it comes and leave as much as you can afford to the professionals to ease the hassles. Write checklists so that nothing gets forgotten - I bought one of those files with the plastic pockets inside - typed up a checklist for the front of it and kept all the stuff together in that, quotes, emails from companies, letters etc so that I knew where everything was and nothing could get forgotten. It just made me feel a bit more organised.

Try to stay focused on how you will be in a few months time and picture yourself where you want to be and it will soon be here as time will really fly by so quickly. Keep thinking about Christmas with your family, walks in the country or nights with your friends and very soon it will be reality.

I'm sure it will be worth all the hassle in the long run

Just a quick post from Cyprus! (We're in Protarus, Kath)

Just on the net in a bar. Its lovely here, weather is great, the hotel backs right on to the beach and its crystal clear water. The wedding we're here for is on Friday.

Who needs Oz! lol. Still very glad to have come home from Oz, especially when you can make trips like this with family and friends etc.

I hope everyone is ok and I'll catch up with you once we return.

Stu and MM. Been following your stories as we were coming home as well. Medical reasons but staying now. Long story so I wont bore you but just to say I'm glad you got what you wanted and I hope it all goes well for both of you. Megans mum, I was especially touched by your story and wanted to come and be your friend. Alas it wasn't to be, so all the best back home and you never know, you could become ping-pongers in the future. Good luck folks.

Many thanks for all your advice, it is such a great help. Yes I suppose we are orrying about our two boys 16 & 13 going to school in England, will they be alright? are they to "not so street wise" etc, they love it when we go back home, they love being England and not Aussie's, they love everything about home except maybe all the rain......I am scared that one day they may say "we should of stayed in Aus" or something like that, they are lovely lads but really do not have "close mates" here outside of football (soccer) as they say they find a lot of the kids here "immature" or not really on their "wave length"

I am worried "will we have a nice house"? in a good area? can we afford a nice house in a good area!!!!!! loads and loads of things but if I think well lets just stay here in Perth it's easier I get a sick feeling!!!!! it's awful...just want to fast forward it to Christmas time and be around the table with family (men wearing tacky jumpers) it's cold outside but life is good!!!! The link with the Bamk accounts helped but I am worrying will we get a mortgage!!!! will we get a job!!!!! just put me in a straight jacket and put me out of my misery!!!!
Thanks once again for all your support, is it still raining there or is the sun coming through? my dad say's it's trying!!
Cheers
Jackie in Perth but head all over the show!!!
