Everyone keeps telling me it's a lovely place to bring up our kids, but what about my life.. I still have quite a few years left, I need to still have some quality of life don't I, or is that being selfish ?

Thanks for that both of you, am trying my hardest, some days are good, some days I just think that if I forced myself to stay I could never deal with the fact that my family back home will not be a big part of my life and my childrens. Do you ever accept that ?

I've been here three years now and I can't accept that my kids will never really know their grandparents. Doesn't matter how many times they speak on the phone, it's just not the same.

Sorry, I'm on a real downer today.

I'm sorry to hear that Tracey. It's awful when you get like that. You don't want to feel low, but for some reason you just can't shake it off. I hope you feel abit better over the w/e.

I feel like I have retired but am still in my early thirties, everthing shuts round here at 10pm even at weekends, I'm not talking about the city but locally. Anyway enough of a moan for now, it's just nice to get it off your chest.

Second the feeling like you have retired. This whole country is completely run by and for those in their 50 and 60's. They have all the money and everything is geared to them. My husband and I can't wait to get back to feeling like people in their 30's actually exist.

I am in my 30's and I exist just fine and a lot of my 30 something friends do too. The whole of Australia eh, just a bit of generalising.

I know it is fun isn't it!!! Nothing like a bit of generalising for a healthy constitution.

Thats a rather crazy statement which just isn't true unless you know of the reasons why a particular person wants to return, and even then your opinion may vary greatly to theirs. Friends and family always (for a good while anyway!) exist for instance!
