How easy is it to move back to the UK?

Guys can anyone give me links on how easy it is to move back to the UK if say for example you lived in the USA for 10-20 years? Would I still need my UK citizenship?

sorry if this is a stupid question I can't find anything which can answer my questions.

Is this a real question, or a hypothetical? Or a wind-up? Is this you? If so, have you been in the US for 10 years or 20? It all sounds very vague and made up.

UK citizenship is something you don't lose so whether or not you "need" it isn't relevant - if you are a citizen, you can come back in (with a UK passport).

If you are familiar with using the internet and a computer, try using the Search function on the site to look for threads on returning ... or just browse through the threads - this sort of situation is discussed often so you shouldn't need to look far.

That's about all the time and help I can give without knowing for sure why this reads a little strangely.

[OK, I just read your other two posts - you haven't even left yet, by the looks of it. All you need to know then is that if you are a citizen, and you move to the US, you can come back.]

Both the US & the UK allow dual citizenship, so if you were able to acquire American citizenship, you could keep your British as well.

The UK Border Agency puts it in writing. Scroll down to the section called "If you become a national of another country":
