House Buyers Guide

At the moment we are finding that there is very little on the market. I understand that a little is due to the time of year but I am wondering what impact this House Buyers Guide is going to have on the market.

Are you referring to the Home Information Pack? If so, I believe it is on hold and so it should not be affecting house sales just yet.

I've seen several houses on the market in the UK which say '5% deposit will be paid on this property'. What does that mean exactly, they're knocking 5% off the price or they're giving the buyers some money? I've never seen that before.

Re: House Buyers Guide

Home info packs on hold although energy certificates are still being introduced 1 jul 07. estimates cost gbp200 to gbp350 although this is still a bit woolly and press claim insufficient trained inspectors available. may still be postponed as eu law which this is based on does'nt require the certificates until 2009 so plenty of time.

speculation in press that people will market their homes early rather than pay for something they will not use so could see more homes on market leading up to intro. bigger fear is yet more and more regulations lead to less and less homes being sold and when limited supply meets huge demand prices rise.
