Horrid English Things.

We are having a debate in our household regarding what horrid things are in England that are considered the norm in Australia. For example, does England have cockroaches, mosquitoes, poisonous spiders, bindis (of the horrid lawn growing type), termites, sea lice, poisonous jelly fish etc? (Any other suggestions of horrible things England has that Australia doesn't would also be appreciated!)

Bob. Best just go wash your mouth out with soap and water there my lad - very popular with the over 60's, especially when the lights go on. Oh! you forgot to mention, loads of Aussies who have left Aussie for good! Got a problem have we?

over run with chavs ( a close relative to the cockroach), scrounging benefit seeking monkeys, vermine off the boats (illegal immigrants involved in crime) and plenty invertebrates (spineless politicians).

One horrible thing England has: People who talk like this about other human beings.

Ok sorry....you're a better person than I am. I'll send a few of these human beings round to live in your neighbourhood and see how that works for you.

You have your opinion and I have mine...fair enough

Does Australia have any newspapers like the Daily Mail and the Daily Express?

I grew up in the south of England and only met with any of those things when I moved to the States. (I did encounter a few mosquitoes in Holland when I stayed in the country by a canal...) The wonderful thing about England is the lack of bothersome creatures (no bears, ticks, coyote, skunk, only one poisonous snake that you'll likely never see, and it's too cold for dangerous jelly fish... although I did find this: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-sto...5875-20695374/) I suspect cockroaches are over the entire world, but in England they don't just wander about outside.

In general you can walk and swim with ease! At least, I did.
