Hello. Any help, advice or tips appreciated

Hello,

I will try & be brief. I have been living in Australia for just over 12 years now. I am originally from The UK.
I have 2 children. I met my English husband over here. He has only been here for 4 years.
To cut a long story short we are considering moving back to The UK. I have found it harder as each year passes to be so far away from my family. My husband has a large family & we all get on. I would love to be able to spend more time with all of them & feel I have missed so much now.
I also want to study nursing. I am unsure if I would have to pay international fees due to the fact I have been out of the country for over 3 years. Would anyone know if this is the case? Also how would I go about registering myself & my children with the NHS? When I went home in 2009 & had to see a Dr it cost £60.
Any help & advice would be much appreciated & if there is anything else I am forgetting please feel free to tell me.
Thanks in advance.:)

Hi...welcome to BE. I'm moving your thread over to the Moving Back To The UK Forum as it will get more views from people who have been/are in a similar position as yourself.

Good luck and once again welcome. :)

Generally speaking, yes you would pay international fees. Also, I think this would make it more difficult to get student loans.

Regarding registering with a doctor, if you have moved back in order to take up residence, this should be straightforward - lots of threads about this, so it might be quicker to search for "NHS" in previous threads, using the Advanced Search tool (top of the page).

NHS very simple at the moment, you are all British Citizens, so when you take up residence in the UK, you will be covered, basically from the moment you land. You will have to show some sort of paperwork, utility bill, rental agreement in your names but that is all.
