Haywards Heath
 

We are off to see some nurses accomodation this week in Haywards Heath West Sussex.
I have never been there before, and have no idea what the area is like. Does anyone know it well, or have any advice on areas to steer clear of?
It is only a few miles from where OH is going to be working and is the only that has nurses housing scheme properties available. Call me a cynic, but I wondered why? LOL :lol:

I lived in Haywards Heath when I was growing up. Remember it as happy times but haven't lived there for a few years. Passed through it a few times and the town is quite small but from what I saw has everything you need. Cookfield is lovely. I now live in Crawley. Been back in the UK for 4 weeks now and loving being back.:thumbup:

I live in Crawley too, quite close to Haywards Heath. I don't know too much about HH but I do know to avoid The Heath pub!

The guy next to me at work lives there (right near to the hosp as it happens) so i'll tap him tomorrow for all the dirt!

Hi,

My colleague says he's not sure where the nursing housing is in HH but the area around the hospital is a nice place to live. He also said there's good amenities; a big Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencer, Victoria Park with a pool for the kids, leisure centre, a road of nice restaurants, and not too many chavs, and hasn't seen any trouble in the bars in his few years in HH.

I lived in Haywards heath for a spell while I was growing up.

I was wondering about Cuckfield long term as OH will be working in Lewes. Is that an OK place?

Not lived there, but been there a few times........ lovely with lots of wonderful countryside on the doorstep, close to the south downs and south coast, Brighton area

All around that area is OK, including HH. Obviously there will be a few chav type idiots even in a small country town like HH but thankfully not enough to spoil it.

HH Cuckfield and surrounding areas are nice country towns and there is so many other pretty places within a short drive. You could be in Kent within a few minutes, in the Ashdown forest or on the coast. I'd find it a bit too rural I think, I have to be within 30 minutes of a big town otherwise I'd feel like a hermit. Depends if you can handle being a bumpkin.

Hello again,i seem to remember telling you about Lewes a couple of months ago,as for H/Heath is not a bad place,we live in Burgess Hill about 4 miles south of H/H.We have only been back from Spain about 2 weeks,so we are loving it,having all the things we couldnt out there! Anyway as most have said on here there is always Cuckfield or even here in Burgess Hill..........either way good luck with whichever one u choose!

Yes, I remember you telling me about Lewes. OH got the job there, but the only nurses accomodation available at the moment is in HH. We will have to rent the place for minimum 6mths, but long term we have no idea where to settle.
I have noted that all these places seem to be an easy drive into Lewes

I appreciate all the advice from you and others. I am adding all these places to my list of possibles.
