Has anyone returned to UK from Cyprus ?
We are just completing the sale of our house here in Cyprus & then we are off back to UK- YEAH!! I wondered if anyone else has returned from here & good or bad expriences

No!!! but my sisters just bought a house in Pavos!! so shes going there (oh dear) well her and hubbie be retiring.
Whats made you want to return if you dont mind me asking??

I'm sure your sister will be fine. For every one person returning hundreds love it. It just wasn't for us unfortunately. There isn't an awful lot to do here & for us the lack of mental stimulation got the better of us. We have been here for six years & feel we have had a good "holiday" & just want to go home now!
Doesn't matter how much research you do it doesn't prepare you for the reality. Has your sister already got a place if not I would strongly recommend that she rents at first to see how she likes the lifestyle here- much easier to pack up & go if its not for her. It has taken two years to sell our house because there is so much being built & its a buyers market.

Yes she lived there for two years and returned to UK, but must admit like me in Oz you either love it or hate it (i hate it),,, she loves it there. Each to their own as you say.

We are in northern Paphos nr Latchi. I must admit the first couple of years were fine, plenty to keep us occupied dealing with authorities, getting the house the way we wanted it etc. but after that its become a bit of a bore as there is really nothing to do here if you are retired.OK if you are into Bingo or Quiz nights. Another thing is the heat!
Its been in the 40s in the shade for the last two weeks & will continue thro' until the end of Aug- every day! In UK you can't go out because of the rain- here its because of the heat & as you get older it feels worse!
We're glad we did it but now its time to go home!
