Took a ship from Fremantle to Portsmouth last year, the voyage took a total of six weeks and was never bored.
The vessel was not full so plenty of space and called into a dozen ports in Asia,Middle East and Europe.

It is possible to come the other way also.

Same ship will be returning to UK next March, this time via another route,Cape of Good Hope.

Hi sorry not to have replied sooner....the ship left Freo then headed towards Malaysia etc then off to the Middle East then stopped in the Med and then I think Hull....I know, I know.....we use to see it advertised in the Perth (Aus) Sunday Times Travel pages and compaired to the other cruises it was very reasonable I think all in all it took 28 days, the Ship might have been called The Princess but don't quote me on that one.
All the best and hope you have all the help and support you need for your son soon.
