Default GPS for US / UK

Well,,, we have about 7-8 months left before our move back to UK from the US. Perhaps July time frame. Can't wait...

Because we can't wait :-) we decided to take a two week trip and visit some family over Christmas time.

I see that Costco has some really Nice GPS available for around US $200. I am thinking about getting one for about similar price that I can use both in the US as well as in the UK. Can anyone recommend what my options are? I have a USB gps which work with any decent software but that requires that I carry my laptop around. I am now looking for a stand along (pocket size) gps without breaking my credit card . Any ideas?

Thanks. :-)

I have a TomTom which has built in maps for N.America & Western Europe, it works fine on either continent.
I bought it in the UK though, not sure how much they are over here? Sorry.

I bought a Tomtom GO910 on eBay whilst in UK. It is excellent. It even speaks the names of all the streets you turn into. I already had Western Europe and Nth America installed on it, but my naughty son in law managed to get me a free dowload for Australia which has been a godsend. I dont know how i managed without it now i have one! The amount of in car domestic disputes has reduced by 90%

Yes it's a 910 which comes with the maps I mentioned pre-loaded. The other models are practically the same but with less maps. But I'm sure you if you try hard enough you can find them on the internet somewhere
