Going back as a one parent family
How many have done this? How hard was it for you to make the break? Did you find life better back in the UK without the OH? Need advice, things not good in this household now.

Depending on circumstances, the other spouse may have the right to prevent children from being taken back to the U.K.

We're not married. 10 y.o. daughter is on my passport, 17 y.o. son has his own. OH would not prevent me leaving with either of the kids. Just want to hear from people's experiences on whether their expectations of going it alone back to the UK lived up to what they hoped, or whether they struggled and missed OH and the country they left.

Re: Going back as a one parent family
I have a friend who has returned in just these circumstances about 4 weeks ago. She's due to ring me this evening so I'll be able to get her first impressions although it's still early days yet.

Thank you....I mean it xx
Not many words have been spoken between us tonight but those that have could well have set the damage in, and I don't know what tomorrow brings. I had more to drink than he did so he'll have a better memory
I would still appreciate views and advice on other women's experiences on how it was for them having to go back on their own though.
Good night all.

Sorry to hear about your heart ache Ruby.
Any thought about going through couple
counselling before the final break up?
Sending positive vibes and big hugs to you.

A practical place to start.....
I had a friend who moved alone with kids, she managed and just picked a place randomly that felt right to her and just got on with things, hard but doable.
