I'm not sure Bute is a big enough playground for a Border Collie.

Good on you for taking a rescue dog. I'm sure the two of you will cover many happy miles together.

Scot47, Thanks for saving a rescue dog. I'm huge dog advocate and have already donated several hundred dollars this year to animal rescues. I even have my own dog who got from a rescue and 2 months ago had two dogs transported from Texas to Arizona to save them from death row. One has been adopted and I still have the Lab Retriever who chews bloody everything in sight! For me life in US would have far more difficult without companionship of my dogs..Thank for saving life of dog.

Really pleased for you and especially your dog. My wee Westie was a neglected wee thing when I got her, but she turned into the best dog ever. I still miss her, hence my avatar. Daft, I know, but dogs do that to some of us.

Happy trails!!!:). Or should that be Happy Tails !!!!

Suzy did her 6-month quarantine at Milton SSPCA in 2000, they were great. Let me visit her any time.

Milton SPCA, boarding kennels, that is where my dog used to go for his hols whilst I was living the high life at Butlins in Ayr.

I drove that route so many times on visits during her 6 months that even now when I drive to the airport (I go via Erskine Bridge) I have to be careful not to go into auto-pilot or I'll end up at the SSPCA!

If anyone is interested, guide dogs occasionally need rehoming - https://www.guidedogs.org.uk/support...g-a-guide-dog/

Also, if you can't have a dog of your own, you can sponsor a puppy on it's way to being a guide dog :)

 You could have a fairly inexpensive holiday there if you don't mind eating dog kibble.
