Maybe the key isn't so much the formality, but rather the fact that some couples seem to keep the day about getting married, being with family and friends, etc. while others get caught up in trivial details that don't matter at the end of the day.

We had about 135 people at ours, with a beef/chicken/veg choice and a 5 hour Top Shelf (important) open bar. Everyone had a wicked time, especially the Brits that had flown over. I think the actual party for our wedding finished around 4am, but I was gone by midnight. Had stuff to do, you know.

Lord knows how much it cost. I didn't pay for any of it.
