Expired british passport
Ok so here goes, I'm originally from northern Ireland and being from there I could have both a British passport and an Irish passport at the same time. My British passport however has been expired since 2010 since there might be a possibility of moving back some day would it be a good idea to get a new one and would it be good to start paying back into a uk pension again although I stopped paying into it when I left to move to America 5 years ago. When I did my green card i did it through my irish passport

Re: Expired british passport
It’s a good idea to keep your passport up to date. If you leave it expired too long you’ll be treated as a first time applicant rather than just a renewal. Making voluntary NI contributions is sound financial advice whether you return or not as you can draw your state pension whether you are living in the UK or overseas.

My daughters are dual nationals. We let her UK passport expire. It was a major issue to renew. Passport Office in Belfast gave us a hard time.
