If it's such a small amount,could you look at getting an unsecured loan instead?

They will not look at us for either ......... he is self employed on a great wage ,he has proof of employment now and the next job which is a 2.5yrs contract and the wage (it would be paid off within 2 yrs). We have accounts from Canada from years ago which dont count for any thing. We are paying a huge amount in rent and the mortgage would be half that.We will be putting down %95 down so for goodness sake we are not a risk!!!!!!

I wonder if some of the issue is that you don't fit the traditional mould - ie low loan-to-value amount, short term... paradoxically, I wonder if you might have better luck if you were actually looking to borrow a little more? Are you working with a broker? do they have any ideas?

That's a good point actually, I do wonder if there's a minimum you can borrow on a mortgage? If so, borrow it, then just pay it back
