Expat Blogs
I've just spent an amusing half an hour reading a couple of blogs from an English expat (now a repatriated expat). Her family went on an expat posting to California and her spouse is currently working in the oil industry in Saudi Arabia whilst she has returned to the UK with her youngest daughter (a teenager).
http://www.blogger.com/profile/00688750891787941526 I'm sure we can all relate to this.... http://www.lifeinthelabubble.blogspo...k-dot-com.html Home Page (Whilst an Expat in the USA): http://www.lifeinthelabubble.blogspot.ch/ Home Page (Now as an Ex-Expat in the UK) http://www.theburstbubble.blogspot.co.uk/ Recently Louise (aka SallySimmons) announced that she is pretty much stepping down from posting on BE now that she's relocated from New York to Yorkshire - her wonderful blog is: http://fingerrollsandfoldingchairs.wordpress.com/ Has anyone come across any other blogs from expats or re-pats? |
Re: Expat Blogs
Thank you :) I knew about Louise's blog but not the other, too, so I added them to my folder :)
Here's another one from someone in the British Expats forum who went home recently to the UK. http://pompeyblondereturns.blogspot.com.au/ |
Re: Expat Blogs
Cheers Englishmum and Windsong for posting these, found them interesting to read.
You're a great bunch on here! It's helping me get my "fix" of people's thoughts of home when I'm as homesick as hell!! It's always this time of year too usually from March onwards. I should be ok by September (NZ spring)!!:) |
Re: Expat Blogs
This is one I like, although she tends to write a lot of stuff that's not directly related to her move back: http://blogiota.blogspot.co.uk
She's a good writer though and offers some good insights. |

Did like Captaincheesestick, but it's gone now.

http://yoursaucepans.blogspot.pt/ "What about your saucepans?"
This is written by an Englishwoman who lives in the Dominican Republic with her Dominican husband and his children. She writes accurately and entertainingly - super stuff. I don't think any visitor to her site will be disappointed. Check it out and let's know what you think. |

Re: Expat Blogs
I love all the expat blogs. In fact, I crave them! ;)
I plan to start one when I am back in the UK, too. It is then that the part of me you have never experienced will blossom. :) Be prepared for lots of videos, photographs, poetry and writing, my tribute to a priceless land. :) |
Re: Expat Blogs
Can I humbly submit my blog here? I'm not an expat, my husband (tratcliffe71) is (and will be contributing through me) - but we are moving to the UK from Canada. I'll be talking about why and how and all the gory little details on the blog - hoping that someone will be blessed by it.
