Emigration Accountant Recommendation

My wife and I are returning to England next month after 14 years in Canada.
We are looking for an experienced emigration accountant. There doesn’t seem to any really experienced ones here in Winnipeg.
Could anyone recommend someone that they used?
There is nothing complicated about our lifestyle. We have sold our only residence, we have both retired although we are not receiving any pensions till we are back in England.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello,

Please be advised that you should most definitely seek professional advice on the tax side of things as your personal circumstances would need to be looked at in more detail.

I would use someone such as this company in the UK. They operate on a fixed fee basis and have a good reputation. They will advise you on your Canadian tax and investments and how it affects your UK tax. If you are just collecting, say, CPP/OAS, then it is quite straight forward and you could manage that yourself but other investments may be more complicated. Do you have a UK bank account? If not, perhaps someone such as Revolut may be the easiest to open.

There are others I can provide you with details of if you wish.
