Electronics compatibility?

Hi all. I'm trying to find out whether my Oz bought LG Blu-Ray/DVD Recorder will work in England through a UK tv? Can anyone tell me please, I can't get a straight answer from LG

Check the voltage, can't remember off hand what oz is.

Apart from that, if you're using hdmi, it'll work, should work with composite cables...but unless it's regionless you might not be able to use it to play UK bought stuff....I've no idea what region Oz is for Blu-Ray, though have a feeling dvd's should be okay.

I thought that Blu-Ray was regionless?

Or is it that a Blu-Ray player will play any region "regular" (non Blu-Ray) DVD (as Bob says)? There's something about Blu-Ray and regular DVD being different, region-wise, I thought.

OP, maybe have a look in the Wikis - these questions are asked often enough that it may be covered in there.

Voltage should be fine, just need an adapter for the plug - take multi-plug powerboards home with you

They will be fine, voltage is the same and the discs will work fine and the player will work with a UK TV.

Australia and UK are the same region for blu ray (Region B) which covers Europe, Africa, Middle East and Australia & New Zealand. DVDs are a different region though (Region 2 for UK, Region 4 for Australia).

Cool...so I had it the wrong way around

Chances are though, there might be a hack for the dvd portion at the very least. - http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks for a look?
