Electronics and bulbs
I am only bringing a few of my key electronic items with me to the UK. My 50 inch Samsung monitor, Desktop PC, External hard drive and printer.
I have already purchased the mains cable for my desktop PC. I have located the cable for the external hard drive and Samsung monitor. I need one more for the Canon Figma TS5120 printer. Can anyone provide a good link or source where I can find such mains cables that I will need in the UK? Do US light bulbs work in the UK, can I bring those over? |

That said, US bulbs are designed to work on 120V and as LEDs are a relatively sensitive solid state electronic component, I am reasonably certain that putting 230V through a US LED bulb is not going to end well. |
Re: Electronics and bulbs
Doesn't the TS5120 use an IEC-C7 power lead?
Lots on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/C7-Power-Le.../bn_7023413902 |
Re: Electronics and bulbs
There are many types of bulb fitting in the UK these days, but the voltage is too high so US bulbs won’t work. However, if there are lamps you want to bring then no problem, you’ll be able to buy the correct fitting bulbs here at the right voltage. When our son moved back there is a display cabinet of his that he loves which he brought over. He had no problem buying a UK bulb for it (LED, screw fitting) and replacing the US plug with a UK plug with a 3 amp fuse.
