Default does being on jobseekers allowance have ANY effect

Hi,

I'm going onto jobseekers allowance so I can get legal aide to fight a long drawn out and thus far expensive fight with my ex. Will doing so have ANY impact on any forms or decisions made on my cr1 application?

Isn't the money you are sending to your spouse part of the income she needs to meet her I-864 obligation? Would it impact that?
Otherwise, there is no requirement at all for the beneficiary (you) to be employed or earning at all.

I dont think me making monthly payments to her counts for the I-864 as it cant be proved to continue when I move over, isn't that right ?

We are fine for I-864 as she gets 22k from child support and will have 18k in savings which means 22k+18/3= 28k for limit of 27.6 k.

I have not found work yet, so today I transfered over 12k dollars to bring me below threshold for legal aid. I am going on jobseekers allowance, Ive paid £100,000s in taxes of the years so a bit of legal aid will be helpful.
