Once the K1 visa has been issued, do I need to notify any UK Goverment
authority that I'm leaving the country?

This may seem like a strange question but it is to do (amongst other
things) with future pension rights etc. Although this may be academic
as I doubt there will be a state pension in 30 years

I have stumbled through this and I'm sure there are others who will know exactly what to do and will correct me if I'm wrong.
I contacted the Inland Revenue, Centre for non-residents, Rm BP1301, Benton Park View, Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne NE98 1ZZ (tel: 0191 22 57979). They have done a pension forcast for me and sent a load of information about making voluntary contributions to the state pension scheme.
You should also contact your company pension scheme (if you have one).
I also contacted my local Inland Revenue office with a change of address.
I'm sure there are more officials to inform!!!

I did all that when I left for Spain. No one gives a toss apart from the Revenue!

I have heard of people "registering" at the local consulate when they get here. But that is mostly for social events. Think Higgins in Magnum
