The couple met while Gemma was on a gap-year break from Oxford University and, despite neither knowing the other's language, fell in love. But against the genteel backdrop of Gemma’s Middle England Hampshire village, Lesikar drops a bombshell: under Masai law, he’s entitled to take more than one wife...
Meanwhile, Countess Alexandra Tolstoy, 30, fell for Shamil, a Russian-speaking horse guide whose upbringing in Uzbekistan couldn't have been more different from her pampered childhood in the family's Cotswold home. But how will Alexandra cope with her new pad: a one-bedroom flat in Tashkent?
Finally there’s Patricia from Belfast who fell for Tiziano from Rimini, northern Italy. After a true whirlwind romance, the couple were wed - but their cultural differences quickly become evident. Though the birth of a son brought the couple together, now Patricia and Tiziano face an acrimonious end to their affair.
