Croc Hunter Steve Irwin Dead
Crikey....what a shock:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060904/...ralia_irwin_dc
Just three weeks ago (on my birthday actually) we were on a cruise and went on a day trip to 'Stingray City' in the Cayman Islands, British West Indies. This is where there are a hundred or more stingrays, approx 200lbs each and they come to feed at the edge of a reef. Tourists (like us) arrive on boats to feed them their favourite food, squid.
I was creeped out by them and when one brushed against me I got straight back on the boat to take photos instead.....my husband and son enjoyed being in the water with them and even held one up and had a photo taken 'kissing' it....yuck. We were all warned to keep away from their barbs (tails) but they swim right up against you and I was too wary of them.
It sent a chill down my spine to think what happened to poor Steve Irwin in this seemingly freak accident and how easily it could have happened on our trip to Stingray City.

I know I will get barred for this, because heaven forbid anyone questions a moderator but it will be worth it.

Hey - watch it. Bob is one of the nicest people and mod on the forum. He was only pointing out that there were threads all over the forum.
Go take your chill pill and when you can be civil come back.

Well sorry Bob.....I only really look at the USA forums and very rarely look at or post on the other ones. Anyway....I included an anecdote which related to our experience with stingrays on our holiday three weeks ago....

We've seen large ones in The Bahamas but certainly didn't expect to see one swimming very close to the shore at Harvey Cedars, LBI, NJ a couple of weeks ago.
