not a chance. i mean, i don't know how often people here go back to the uk (though many seem to have not been here long enough to have given it a good chance), but i go for business and every time it gets worse and worse. britain now has a higher per capita violent crime rate (excluding homicide and gun crime) then the USA, and the highest violent crime rate in Europe. the scots are running england and passing the prime-ministership around like it's a game of pass-the-parcel. sure, it's economy continues to boom on the back of cheap immigration, indeed in cheshire (my former home) they now have road signs in Polish. good luck to the Poles, they are the only guys doing any damn work in the area but britain's identity is disappearing and there's an emerging underclass sustained by politically-correct notions of non-intervention. i've lived in asia and various places in oz (latterly darwin), and i swear the energy and drive ex-Europe is just much more evident. and in australia, while the mad mullahs get short shrift - in the uk they get a handout to convert somerfields into a mosque. londonistan is not a joke.

Just a small tip....we went to Harvey world travel expecting a huge amount for flights and they actually saved us a couple of grand nearly.
We are flying with EVA Air, putting us in a hotel free of charge (looked on the internet and looks lovely) staying at Taiwan airport then on to heathrow. Cost us $4500 for 4 of us and the planes have wings too!! hehe

i didn't intend to join, i was sending a few links of expat sites to a former colleague considering an overseas transfer. so they could see some opinion. i saw this site, and, yes the content of this thread fascinated me. so i joined, to add a reply. there is no casual visitor posting.
no mandtooz, i don't think you're stupid. i don't recall at any stage expressing that opinion either.
i would say however to all the bored housewives in this room wasting your lives tapping out your misery, staring longingly at the shipping containers, take a step back, and a long hard look at your 'problems' and put them in some sort of perspective. going back to the uk is one thing, making it your core daily activity to talk about it and have a virtual miserablefest is vomit-inducing. as someone said earlier (but no one complained that she flamed!) just !@#$ off home, then. we won't miss your whining.

i haven't bad-mouthed the uk. i've expressed a personal opinion. i am british, i love the uk. i don't like what it is becoming and neither do many british people. geordie, look at the thread, i merely answered your questions.
