Christmas decorations
As this is our last Christmas in the US, I was wondering if my Christmas tree lights and garlands would work in the UK. Any thoughts?

No of course not, they all plug into the extension that goes down the middle of the tree, I was thinking I could just use an adapter on the plug end?

Throw them away and get new ones when you're in the UK. They're pretty cheap!

I agree just buy some more, by the time you buy voltage convertors you wont be saving anything.

Also when I arrived here I got another from Amazon (£8) which works too.
I prefer my US Christmas lights, they're much brighter and are far cheaper than UK ones

I hope you don't have a fire with them, you're insurance may not cover it if you are using a transformer. They're only xmas lights not worth the risk in my mind and really not expensive to replace.

The USA Christmas Tree company Balsamhill sell different voltage versions of their trees in UK as far as the lights are concerned so not worth the risk.
Loads of on-line choice here now with lights anyway. LEDs being all the rage.
