My daughter lives very near to one and i was spending far too much time AND money in there I been good this week and stayed out of there!

I know they are expensive, but they really are the best. The pain rustique bread rolls, with a pork apple and sage burger in (from deli meat counter), is an experience that cant be beaten. Add a helping of the salad bar delights and you're in heaven

It's not where I do all my food shopping (Morrison's or Tescos for me!) but Waitrose is a bit lovely isn't it? Just for the nice bits, you know?!?!

I love Waitrose!

I do all my food shopping there. I have even found some things cheaper than Tescos (e.g. branded cat food).

Looooove Waitrose! It is the closest supermarket to my mum's place and so I choose it over Tescos. I cant say that I noticed it was that much more expensive though (the blindness of holiday mode perhaps)

My parents go to Morrisons as they usually get diesel as well.

Nearest Waitrose to my parent's house is in Bath. We go when I'm home (being a faggy Mummy's boy that had a privileged upbringing ). TBH we have so many good farmers markets in my area that good fresh local produce is only a short walk away.

Which is a far cry from the bag of cr@p laughingly described as fruit and veg that I just bought from a 'market' in Sydney.

I like you even more now, I'm raising a pair of Mummy's boys myself, so far I've got the older one really fussy about his clothes and food. He bought all new clothes in UK, Next, Top man, some mens boutique, M&S, and is now complaining he can't find as good stuff here. The younger one is still a bit too macho, I'm working on him

Actually I was raised in a council house in Somerset. Admittedly I have moved on and up rather well in my career, but I've been accused of all sorts of things on this site. The saga is best portrayed in these two threads:

I was in Melb last week for work and I left my suit jacket in reception by accident. When I went to get it the lady there was asking what make make it was and I explained it was bespoke and made from English woven cloth etc. I thought she was going to have an orgasm She said she'd never met any man in Oz that cares about clothes (I notice she didn't have a wedding ring on ).

I dont know if it was a trip to UK which did it but my 30 year old son owns several bespoke suits - think I should be quite proud of him although I must admit that his father also owned a couple before he became a poor student supporting a family in his later life!
