Is buying property in Wales the same as England?
 

As the title, we have bought proprty in England before moving out to Aus, just wanted to know if the same law, procedures, taxes, fees etc are the same in Wales as the UK ?? Cheers........

I almost bought a house in Wales in 2006 and as far as I can recall, it was basically similar - unlike Scotland, which is VERY different.

As far as I'm aware buying a property in Wales is the same as in England, the only difference I know of in the UK is within Scotland. I may be wrong as I haven't bought a house for 3 years but I think Wales has got rid of HIPS too, not sure if England has :)

Wales has come a long way in the last 17 years, I don't think they do that any more.

My Maltese granny has a home in Wales and loves it there; my parents bought her a country house in disbelief when she decided to move there in 2001. As far as I know the procedure is exactly the same or very similar.

Yes, England & Wales have the same laws on everything so buying a house in Wales is identical to that in England.
