That's right thanks - I had forgotten to put it in the loop because it sits outside the Borough and therefore the Weymouth stats but will need to check for easy transport to Weymouth College from there. Should be easy.

Is also well-placed for us getting out into open country on walks along Chesil Beach et al.

Yes you've got some lovely country side and beach walks on your doorstep. Plus a simple 10 minute bus ride into Weymouth.

This Sainsbury's opened last Autumn and there is a new Premier Inn on the same site:

There is now talk of turning an element of Portland into an eco site along the lines of the Eden Project at St Austell in Cornwall. It is only talk at this point though there are some fairly formidable characters who are involved in that talk.

Wareham is also a lovely little town with really good schools. I had friends commute to Weymouth college from there.

Dorchester similarly lovely surrounded by amazing countryside. Both these towns are a little more genteel in character than Weymouth.

Both are on the list but logistically may not be suitable in light of other regular but non-college access that is needed. Access has been a big problem here in St Lucia so we wouldn't want to repeat that.

Will be running around like blue-arsed flies once we get over there to check access and where exactly the college buses run from et al, plus actual rental supply and rents.

I confess that there is a huge amount of choice and this could make it hard or it could be easy if we are not hard-nosed perfectionists.

We are not buying (for now at least) and are effectively retired, which makes it much much easier.

We don't intend to have a car and Dorset CC have just overhauled their entire bus schedules effective January 1st after they discovered that they were funding/subsidising far more bus routes than almost any other County Council and I'm sure there will be more cuts to come.

It's good that Weymouth College is not far from Weymouth Station so Wareham and both Dorchester Stations provide easy and fast access if needed. Being in Wareham might also be better for access to marine activity in Rockley* and Poole.

*Rockley has the largest sailing and watersports activity centre in the UK.

Greenhill is a great area in weymouth to live. in fact i am currently selling a nice flat there... ideal retirement property... ;0)
