Black scorpion type of thing
About an inch long, all black, looks a bit like a lobster/crab/scorpion, whatizzit? So Cal. Wife says it's not a scorpion, I'm not about to test it. Sorry, would have photo but splattered bug probably not too helpful.

I'm from So Cal and that doesn't sound too familiar, but then again, I'm not a bug person... :D |

Re: Black scorpion type of thing
You can find scorpions in California. Lobsters on shore, maybe not so much.

Re: Black scorpion type of thing
We have very small scorpians, they are brown colour and can be about an inch long.
I have stepped on one it's like a bee sting nothing very serious. They do look like little lobsters. |

Ok, maybe not a scorpion then as it doesn't have the stinger. Ugly thing though
Managed to find one outside. |
Re: Black scorpion type of thing
Found it. Pincher bug or earwig.

Re: Black scorpion type of thing
Earwigs, they're always hanging around the berry fruits, especially if you've got red currants.

Strangely enough I recently found a dead Shrimp in my car port. I am about 4 miles from the shore. Figured a bird dropped it and it crawled in and died:confused:
