Hey, I forgot to mention my other question to you. Is it very usual for high end listed properties in the UK to be located so far away from one another?
You mentioned that comparisons can be 10-20 miles apart. Do you ever see areas where there are concentrations of period and listed properties in certain towns and or regions of the UK?

Thanks
One of the reasons that expensive properties are spread out is because, in general, land is very expensive in the UK - small island and all that. Therefore, almost by definition, a property with a lot of land will be expensive.

There are many streets in London with multiple houses that are multi million pound houses (check out Knightsbridge or Kensington, for example) and I expect many towns/cities have areas/streets where the most expensive houses are. For example, where I am from in Dorset, the Sandbanks area of Poole is very expensive - somewhat due to a quirk of geography which means it is a small peninsular with lots of sea views.

No, you'll find plenty of high end listed properties closer to each other. What I meant is that you're not likely to find comparable for your specifics (Georgian, with tennis court, between 3 and 7 acres, in your budget, plus whatever other criteria you have in terms of space/style etc) close to each other. You'll find other listed properties, but you won't find an endless supply of Georgian pads with tennis courts for a certain price in a small area.

I'm assuming London is the most expensive area of the UK to buy land as well as homes. It's the epic center of business and leisure activity for the most part for the whole country. Which pretty much equal less land and property space for more money. Same way in every major western & eastern country. If only we had a relative that could have bought up swaths of acres back when and pasted it down generationally. I'm sure most of us think in those terms.

I like that you have experience living in the Dorset area. How long did you live there? Would you recommend Dorset now? What's your opinion of what it's like to live there for fun things to do day and night, and the beauty of the place over-all? And when you want a bit of nightlife do you go check out London or Brighton?

Are people friendlier in the Dorset area than in the Oxfordshire area in your opinion?

Thanks

Got it!

I was imagining having the biggest house in the neighborhood or the county and standing out like a sore thumb which imo is never a good thing. I prefer to blend in minus a few personal allowances. When in Rome...…

Very nice property in Surrey. Have to see it in person to get a better opinion of the area.

Another house trying to be something it’s not. Sorry but just not a fan of mock Tudor!

I like how your eye for real estate lends it self to having a strong opinion about various options.

Tudor homes were once quite popular in the States but especially on the east coast. I've been in a few visiting with friends in New Jersey.

Would you be the type of adopted kid that can become rich and famous? My kids have been very expensive. They think our money is their money. There should be a support group for parents

Buckinghamshire has options. Can't wait to get on the ground and actually explore the various towns and villages. Finding the idea property in the right area is a must win win.
