this holiday just keeps getting better.... apart from BA strike, partners arrival looking increasingly slim, and he is desperate to get away from the heat for a while

have done some some marvellous walking in the countryside, beautiful if not a little brisk, going to some traditonal english restaurant tonight for sons bd, seem to be in totally chav free area now, people seem very alive compared to the another stubby mate/bbq culture zzzzz. moving up norff soon so see what that brings these days, probably delays on the train due to snow

teens bought some backpacks that are v popular in oz, cost about 60 -80 dollars there, paid £7 each, and i relented and had to have a primark item £4 pyjamas, no sequins and not the all in one adult babygro number

now if santa can make singapore air go on strike too, maybe i could stay another year

We are still waiting for the snow. Me and the kids have our snowman making gloves at the ready
My Aussie friend in Sydney told me this morning it was 42 degrees there today.
Now, to all those who bang on about the hot weather in Aus making for an outdoor lifestyle? I know where i'd rather be right now! HERE! And we shall definitely be outdoors having a lot more fun than Sydney

I felt sorry for my little 2yr old grandie. She got so excited yesterday as we did have a snow shower for about an hour but it didnt settle. Weatherman reckons we are getting it later today and overnight.

So your other half may get on his flight after all

shops mental, you just walk around and wonder how the hell we pay what we do in oz, makes you angry really we are so ripped off, kids who hate shopping have even got into it a bit food - so many deals and bargains its hard to pay full price for anything unless you want a specific brand, feeding 2 teens and moi on about 8 - 10 a day and as anyone with teens knows what they eat, that includes a few treats too, stuff we wouldnt usually eat but its holidays..

chavs - seen a few, same as bogon quota really except we are currently in a poorer area, moving onto posh rels next week, will see. rels all doing well nobody seems to be under great hardship at all, not what you expect from the news..... budget here lots of moaning, i think its the sort of buget oz will get after the election

christmas, yep its christmassy, ice skating, shops, decs, food, atmosphere, but of course a bit weird as its not at all cold, hopefully that will happen next week.

well hope your all enjoying the heat in oz, dont miss it one bit, heard an aussie accent on tv last night and were all screaming oh noooo do we sound like that, omg cringe

all for now

oh yeah singapore was fantastic, singapore air, a380, well its just another plane really, economy is still economy, we left bris the day they closed the airport from storm, horrid turbulence with passengers screaming - great fun.
Can't believe you have finally got there after all this time!!!

My turn to return for good March 2010

Not only that....the BA flights will be half empty as many passengers have already been transferred to Qantas flights!

I've just picked up frequent flyer seats for 23rd December arriving in Edinbirgh on Xmas Eve....just need to make sure I can confirm the time off now! I suspect there will be loads of frequent flyer redemptions available on BA Xmas week now.

We have had smog for the last few days...horrible yellow stuff and in the heat it is just horrible......I met a lady this morning in MacDonalds (I just had a coffee...honestly) she was in the queue behind me and noticed my English accent and she said.."I really hate the sun and heat here"...I had just been fanning myself as it was hot inside as well as out...she carried on "I have been in Aus for 41 years and I just hate the sun and this heat...it gets worse for me every year".....I told her my friend rang me this morning from England to say they have just had snow....and she said "if I did not have my children and grandchildren here I would of gone back home years ago".....might be my last quote for a while so "Happy Christmas and the Very Best of Wishes to All not matter where you are I hope you enjoy the holidays"

we got a massive dump of snow, walking back from restaurant, it started and in an hour cars etc covered, by morning 6 inches, so the times wasnt far off teens were out at midnight playing in it, lots of people out there, cars sliding around, the little cars tyres done cope well do they

this morning off to a huge park with a makeshift sleigh, loads of schools closed, kids playing everywhere. absolutely fantastic time, freezing now, imagine a few ice problems tonight.

ba strike is off, as bc said probably empty be planes now partner will be laughing if thats the case.

were off to the christmas holiday rental soon, probably wont be online, busy preparing for the christmas do, so wish you all a merry xmas be it in oz or uk and will report back later.
