I didn't have an HSBC bank in Dallas so they had me come to NYC to fill in the remainder of the paperwork. I managed to schedule it the same week as my daughter's wedding in NYC.

Well see, that's not very convenient is it? The closest branch to me is in Miami, 5 hours drive away.

Not at all convenient. However, worth it in the end. I arrived with a UK credit card, debit card and check book.
