Australians...thick or what!!!
In Sydney CBD yesterday there was a huge power blackout which caused havoc. Sreet lights went down, people stuck in high rise lifts and darkness enued later in the evening. Get this... i am still laughing as i type.. :rofl:
They have an emergency loud speaker broadcasting system set up in the CBD to announce instructions in an emergency situation like this... but... :rofl::rofl: pmsl ... it wouldnt work last night because it runs on electricty and doesnt have a battery back up system :eek::eek: gawwwwd... i so needed a laugh :thumbsup: |

DH had a good old giggle at it too - apparently, the CBD is on a triple cable service - so in theory, if 1 line goes down, there are 2 back-ups... but not much use when all 3 go in one hit LOL.
There are stacks of new-build towerblocks in the CBD on this kind of electricity system, rather than having proper back-up generators... DH is hoping some more work will come his way because of this ;) |
