Default Aussies leaving aussie

I read a rather interesting piece in the West Australian today .They stated 75000 brits leave each year to come and live in Australia, and 78000 Australians leave aussie to live in Britain .So i guess Britain cant be as bad as made out .

I'm a Kiwi living in Australia, who can't wait to get back to the UK. Although my wife is a pom.

When you look at the population ratio, theres a lot more Aussies leaving here than there are poms moving over. Especially when you take into account that a lot of them also go to the U.S.

Don't worry, a few years living in Earls Court will be enough to convince them to move back.

Hello! people, the majority of Aussies who "migrate" to the UK are doing so on working visas which are for one or two years, or maybe a four year ancestry visa. Of course, a small percentage will not come home but I met a lot of Aussies in the UK who were all planning on going "home" once they had lived in the UK, had their big adventure and travelled through Europe etc. Funnily enough, most of them professed their love for Aus, so lucky they grew up there etc but I do not recall anyone "bashing" the UK the way people on this forum do to Australia. Ask yourselves: How many Aussie familes with kids make the move over to the UK, or talk of doing so? It is the young Aussies who want to travel, and good on them.

Save your breath - unless you've got a pocketful of hate, nobody here will want to listen ...

From what I've read on here, most people don't actually hate Australia. Some hate living there because they are missing their families or they hate the lifestyle or they hate the decisions they have made. While there are a few people who hate the place, I think you'll find these are in the minority.
